Community Partners

The Chama Christmas in the Mountains event is a vibrant community celebration that brings together various local organizations and groups for a festive weekend. We would like to shine a special light on the Community Partners that help make this event possible:

Chama Valley Arts: This organization plays an important role in the event by showcasing local art and culture. Please visit the Chama Valley Arts Wintermarket for: handmade artwork, gifts and treats; Best Biscochito Contest; Young Artisans booth and Craft table; as well as a bake sale and raffle. CVA often host exhibitions, live performances, and workshops that highlight the artistic talents of the community. Their involvement adds a rich cultural dimension to the festivities.

4-H: Known for its youth development programs, 4-H contributes to the event by engaging young participants in various activities such as the “Elves Training Camp”. In upcoming events they might organize craft stations, educational booths, or interactive games that promote learning and fun for children and teens.

United Parents and Teachers of Chama (UPTC): This group is instrumental in fostering a supportive environment for education and family involvement. This year they are hosting The Ornament Factory, an event filled with Christmas Ornament Craft Stations.

Northern N.M. Rec. & Outdoor Conservation Foundation (ROC): This foundation is devoted to providing opportunities to improve the quality of life of life for the youth of Northen NM. They do this by investing in Outdoor Recreation / Conservation, literature, and STEAM programs and Activities. ROC provides invaluable volunteer support to this event. They also set up traditional farolitios (also known as luminarias) that provide a very special traditional, festive, and illuminating experience.

These partners collaborate to create a memorable experience for the Chama community, blending art, education, and family fun to celebrate the holiday season in a unique and engaging way.
